As Lead Designer for Here’s My Chance, Nicola comes to us from her own design business which she ran from 2008-2013. She received her BFA from The University of the Arts in Philadelphia and brings 13 years of design experience, mixed with a flair for customer relations and detailed project planning to Here’s My Chance. Her skill set includes illustration (traditional and digital), graphic design (web and print), art direction, retouching, logo design and brand development, event planning, photography, catalog/book layout and design, and much more.
It has been said that Nicola has a bit of a design addiction. After spending a short time with her, you might find yourself with the all-consuming trait of analyzing font and design choices on everything from signage to food packaging. The world of design can definitely become a lifestyle — one Nicola can’t seem to get enough of! Inspiration comes at a moment’s notice, which is why she is always jotting ideas down in her notebook or recording moments via quick snapshots with her iPhone.
A bit of a geek at heart (well, a lot of a geek, really), Nicola enjoys spending time with her pets, curled up on a couch catching up on her favorite science and design feeds via Flipboard. That, or putting together a fun recipe – she loves to cook! When she’s not enjoying the comforts of home, she can be found at events with a flair of debauchery including burlesque shows, roller derby events, and art shows / drawing events. In fact, Nicola used to run Dr. Sketchy’s Philadelphia – an event she grew 10 times over during her time as director. The monthly event boasted the best burlesque and alternative models Philadelphia has to offer for artists to draw while a DJ spun themed music and cocktails were served.Google+
