The Emerging Arts Leaders of Philadelphia presents:

“What’s Next for the Arts in Philadelphia?”

October 10th | 11am-3:30pm

University of Pennsylvania

General Admission: $20/$15 for Students

Our very own Lansie and Matt will be speaking about arts and civic engagement at this Saturday’s conference, “What’s Next for the Arts in Philadelphia?”

Conrad Benner, founder/editor of StreetsDept.com and Community Catalyst for Next Stop: Democracy!, will also sit on the panel with our team as well as Andrew Cameron Zahn, Owner/Curator/Director of CRUXspace.

Their panel, entitled “Public Art and Galleries: On The Next Stop: Democracy Project, Civic Engagement, and Going Beyond The Gallery,” will explore the new ways that creatives and changemakers in the city are taking art to the streets, involving new community partners, and subverting the traditional gallery relationship between creator, audience, and presenter.

The conference will take place at the Platt Student Performing Arts House at the University of Philadelphia. Speakers from all facets of art in the region - ranging from Religion to Technology - will launch discussions and field audience questions.

As part of the section on Public Art and Engagement, our three musketeers will be sharing what we’ve learned about voter participation in Philadelphia and how we plan to boost civic engagement this November 3rd.

They are slated to share our vision for a collaborative experience between voting and the arts from 12:15-1pm.
