Cause: The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance is the region’s premier leadership, advocacy, and audience development organization for arts and culture. Advocating on behalf of its member organizations and the broader community, the Alliance serves as a symbol and catalyst for a stronger, more vibrant creative economy. Building on the Alliance’s new branding effort, Art Grows Philly, HMC was tapped to develop a social advocacy campaign activating local community leaders around the power of arts-based solutions to community issues.
Effect: Following a one-month intensive review, HMC empowered the Alliance with three advocacy campaign recommendations. Of varying size and sophistication, each included a list of relevant social issues, community partners, and technology needs like advocacy platforms (Salsa, Change.org, MoveOn.org) and web/mobile needs. Additionally, the final campaigns included full management requirements for internal staff and support, content scheduling, social media best practices, and success metrics to benchmark progress.
